The Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) is a standardized coding system that describes medical procedures, services, and supplies for healthcare billing and reimbursement purposes. It helps healthcare providers communicate and bill for services consistently and accurately, and insurance companies and other payers use it to determine payment rates.
Adding a new HCPCS code is easy. Click the "Add New HCPCS" button to encode the necessary data and amount. The system will prompt an error message if the data is incomplete, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
To update an existing HCPCS code, click on the code to view its settings. Then, click the "Edit" button to enable all fields and make the necessary modifications. If the user needs to revert encoded data, click the "Reset" button. To cancel an update, click on the "Cancel" button.
If the user needs to delete an HCPCS code, click on the code and then click on the "Delete" button. This will remove the HCPCS code from the system, allowing you to keep your records up-to-date and organized.
