The individual Vital Signs Alert Section is located on the Patient’s Summary page. This can be seen above the allergy information of the patient.
This section will alert assigned care staff in the case of the vital sign statistics. When alerts show, the clinicians can contact the physician for any medical directive regarding this shift in the patient’s stats.
Upon the creation of the Plan of Care of the patient, the Clinical Manager can refer to the previous patient records for vital sign parameters or solicit the information from the physician. The slots for filling this out are located on the last tab of the POC/485 page.
First, select the type of vital statistic category from the drop down box, type in the numeric information on the Minimum and Maximum value fields and a reminder on the text box to the right of the page. To add the information to the Plan of Care, the user should click on the icon that looks like a green cross at the end of the row.
The data entered for the vital signs of the patient in the visit note will be the bases to any changes.
The data entered on the patient’s vital signs in the visit note will be compared to the data that was set in the Parameters tab of the Plan of Care. The system will create an alert if there are any changes on the patient’s standard vital signs.
